A reported collision occurred on a recent Sunday night in a Colorado town. Alcohol is suspected to have been a factor in the crash. Whether DUI or other criminal charges will be filed against the driver remains to be seen. Several vehicles were involved in the collision. One vehicle reportedly carried a child of minor age as a passenger.

A 27-year-old male was reportedly behind the wheel of the vehicle that is thought to have caused the recent collision. The man is suspected of drunk driving. According to reports, the man crashed his truck into four different vehicles. One of the vehicles struck in the incident was a police cruiser that was parked at the time.

Reports also indicate that the driver of the truck fled the scene on foot; the officer, whose car was damaged, followed in pursuit. It was later discovered that a young child had been left inside the man’s vehicle. Fortunately, the child is said to have escaped the accident without injury. Law enforcement officers reportedly caught up with the man and placed him under arrest.

Colorado law allows any person facing possible DUI charges to first seek the advice of a legal professional in the area. Depending upon the circumstances leading up to a collision, the options available to a person deemed at fault may vary. An experienced attorney would be able to assess an individual case and offer suggestions as to how best to proceed when preparing a defense against impending charges in court.
